Lange schon hatte ich die Idee zu genau diesem Post. Endlich steht dieses Video online, endlich auch hier in Deutschland, hat sich doch youtube endlich mit der GEMA geeinigt. Steven Wilson beschäftigt hier der unbemerkte Tod einer Person inmitten von vielen.

Das Konzeptalbum findet seine Inspiration im Leben und im Tod von Joyce Carol Vincent und der von ihr handelnden Dokumentation „Dreams Of A Life“, von der sich Wilson zeitgleich fasziniert und geschockt zeigte. 2003 verschwand die junge Frau unbemerkt von Familie und Freunden aus dem Leben, bis ihre verweste Leiche nach zwei Jahren in ihrer Londoner Wohnung gefunden wurde. Doch „Hand. Cannot. Erase.“ findet eine eigene Protagonistin und erzählt seine eigene Geschichte. Am Ende steht nicht etwa der Tod.
